Lossefalme had a great idea that we should post the background behind our characters, if we choose to. So in this thread just state your character and the history of it (i.e. family, traits, etc) and maybe we can get into detailed stories. Have fun!

Cool stuff Jen and Sarah!
I'll go first then...
For Celebrian (Ruler #1 of Rivendell): She's Elrond's wife. Mother of Arwen and her brothers. Blah blah blah. I know very little about her, but I rarely use her as my character. Meaning I use Tari more. She's also daughter of Galadriel.
Tari Elanesse: (here is a snipit from a bit I wrote in Rivendell) "My story...hm. Well I do not know where I was born, just that my parents were killed and I was taken here. Celebrian and Elrond graciously accepted me. I became like a child to them. I've lived here ever since then, sometimes going to trips as a representitive of Rivendell. I love it here, it is indeed my home." Tari's eye's glazed over. "And then there was a terrible battle. I was called away from Rivendell. I was taken captive by evil wizards, for they wanted something of Celebrian and Elrond. I never found out what they wanted though, because I was freed by Aragorn, who is like a brother to me. He brought me back to Rivendell, where I was nursed back to health by Arwen." Tari sighed. "And since then I've been on my guard, but fine all the same." So that's Tari's background. She can do quite a bit of magic, and is a very stunningly pretty elf. She's strong minded and somewhat stubborn, loves the forests. She loves the moon also.

I'm glad everybody likes the idea:). I thought it would be a great way to get to know the characters without having to read alllllll the threads throughout ME. PLus it's interesting and fun to read . This is Lossefalme's, my main character in ME, lifestory: Lossefalme was born and raised in a village in the North-East of Rohan, south of Fangorn, with her younger sister and brother, Fertania and Kylan. Her family belongs to the clan Eowain (see rohan.elendor.net/culture/eowain.html for more information), and her father was a reknown Eomaegister, which is the Rohirric term for a horsebreeder and trainer. When she was 12 she chose to be educated as a blodmaegden (=healer), and therefor she was sent to healer in another village to learn the art and skills of healing. Her father gave her a filly at this point of her life, which was a granddaughter of Shadowfax, lord of the Mearas. Lossefalme named her Granoe and raised and trained her herself, with lots of love and pride, to the beautifull snowwhite mare she is now. During her education as a healer, she also got trained in the arts of swordfighting, like every other woman in Rohan. She proved to be quite skillfull, and was able to fight her way out of several orc raides. By the time she turned to adulthood she was a skilled healer and started a practice of her own, just a stonethrow from Fangorn. There she met Tel' Erebtano, an elven blacksmith, with whom she fell deeply in love. Sadly their roads parted soon after, because Erebtano had to move on with his elven companions. A couple of years passed and when she was about 21, she left her house to move to Edoras. There she settled down, started a new practice, the Healing House of Edoras, and followed in her father's footsteps by becoming the stablemistress of the Royal Stables. After almost ten years she also had a reunion with her long lost sister Fertania.
Lossefalme has a friendly and caring personality, but she also wants to be involved in the welcare of Rohan and Middle Earth, for which she has a great love. Next to that, she admires lady Eowyn greatly for her strong character. She is reasonably tall and has long goldish blonde hair, which is characteristic for Rohirric people. She has a gift with animals, and has a great knowledge of plants and their properties. At the moment she is about the be wed to her long lost love, Tel' Erebtano.

ok im not the best writer, but this is the backround info on Idrils life.
Description: Idril is an elf. She has long goldy brown hair and blue twinkling eyes. She can be a very peaceful person, but was taught how to fight and ride, so she does well in batlle. She would risk her life for her home, Rohan, and would never betray it. She loves horses, for she has one of her own, Alassea. (picture doesnt match description but hey, so what)
Idril never knew where she was born. Never knew her parents. All she knew was that they were dead, and Idril only had only a small heirlume of theirs. A sword with figures of wild horses on it.
When Idril was abbandond, she was a small baby, and was found high in the mountains with the sword wrapped up in the bundle. There, she was found by the elf Erestor Calmcacil of Rivendell, who took care of her.
Now Erestor had know idea of the name in which Idril had, so he named her Delérith Calmcacil . All the while Erestor had the sword in his possesion, waiting for Delérith (Idril) to come of age.
As Delérith (Idril) became older and wiser, she had been taught everything Erestor knew. Then the day came when Erestor was to tell Delérith about the sword. When Delérith was given back the sword, and told the story of how Erestor found her, she headed for Rohan, where both she and Erestor thought was the best place to look because of the horses on the sword.
As Idril travelled, she came upon a horse which would become her own. It was Alassea. She was a beautiful jet black mare, and Delérith (Idril) found her at in the Sairalindë woods. Once the climbed upon her back, they were insepreble, but only Idril could tame her. (OCC: ok Alassea died in battle now, so i have a new horse (sounds crude to say it that way) and his name is Edalote, who is a jet black mare also, but has white hair for her mane and tail. i always thought that would look so cool for a horse)
Delérith also found out, by much talking and searching in books, that her true birthname was Idril Elanessë, and her parents names were Thranduil and Eáránë Elanessë. They had been traveling through the mountains with a freind of theirs, when a group of orcs had attacked. And Idril, who was wrapped in a bundle of blankets with the sword in it, was put under the protection of her parents freind.
Unfortuanatly, Idril's parents were chased farther and farther away from the river, and in the end, outnumbered, and killed. And her parents' freind was also shot, and dragged away. Delérith assumed that she was not found by the orcs, and thankfully Erestor came and found her.
Then Idril arrived at Rohan, and Idril still didn't know if Rohan was her true birthplace, until farmilier songs and pictures began flashing through her head as she stayed here. Then she went to the blacksmith, and asked if he had made this particular sword that she had of her parents.
He said it did seem farmilier, and he would look into it.
Finally, Idril got the answer that she was looking for, and it was that the sword was definatly of Rohan, and that the elf that had gotten it from him was of the name Thranduil.
So now Idril lives peacefully in Rohan.

wow that was a great story! what do you mean your not the best writer?! lol My story is the boring one because it's not really made up, it's from the LOTR. It's fun though because Tolkien didn't talk much about Goldilocks (Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton's daughter) too much, so I can make her up a little bit. I use her in RP and only her. I don't have any other characters, I don't like keeping up with them! lol. Some facts I guess would be that she's short (duh), plump, rosey cheeks, golden curly hair down to her shoulders, she's always in a good mood, nosey like her father, but courageous as well. She is one of the friendliest Hobbits there is! (and like the only one..i think lol. everyone else is an elf or human hehe) Well that's about it.

Didn't Sam have at least two daughters? I know Elanor and Goldilocks for sure. I'd have to look it up...

oh yes he had lots of daughters! Goldilocks, Elanor, Rose, Daisy, Primrose, Ruby, and Robin....I think that's about it..lol but I picked Goldilocks because it looked like my username which was LeggyLocks, and it would be easy for people to remember. Now I just use her so much that I changed my username ;D

OK......I finally have enough time to do this properly......... well I guess I will start out with physical appearance, here is a small description of my character as given in a fanfic that I wrote:
Lilthoniel was actually Lilthoniel Ceminassar, the Earthstone, and the only daughter of Lithorad, King of the Elves of Fangorn Forest. They were a reclusive people, and only a few of them remained in Middle Earth, for most left after the end of the Second Age and the Fall of Sauron. As a result, the once proud forest, full of light and laughter had darkened around them, and they seldom ventured from the haven of the palace. Lilthoniel, however had always been rebellious as a young elf woman, and left the palace walls to wander the Plains of Rohan. Over time, she became familiar with some of the Riders of the Riddermark, and traveled often with the éored on their scouting missions. The men of Rohan greatly appreciated her skill with a bow and knives as well as her quick wit and beauty. She was an unusual elf, for most were fair of skin; however, Lilthoniel looked earthen just as her name revealed. She had a definitive olive tone to her skin, and after long days of traveling in the sun, she would become a glowing bronze. She was not as tall as some of her Noldor kindred, but still was more so than most human women. She was slender and seemed delicate, but within the frame of what appeared to be a fragile elf-woman lay great strength, and Lilthoniel could best even the strongest man that was to be found in the Riddermark. But the most remarkable things on Lilthoniel’s fair face were her eyes, they were a curiosity. They contained all of nature’s hues within them. They were the combined blue of the skies and green of the trees, but were ringed in gold the color of the Fair Lady Sun. They also changed color whenever she was struck by strong emotion, sometimes becoming a light golden brown or a steel gray.
Here is a little bit more of the History of Lilthoniel Lilthoniel, as stated before was the only daughter and child of Lithorad, the Elven-King in Fangorn Forest. She was named Ceminassar, which means EarthStone, for two reasons. The first is because of her appearance. The second is because Galadriel foresaw that Lilthoniel would have keen earthen powers and would be the one to wield the Stone of Nimrodel, a pendant with a precious stone set in it that was found in the aforementioned stream. The thing about this stone is that it is incredibly powerful, but no one was able to unlock it, and it was foretold that one ould be born who was more a part of the earth, so when Lilthoniel was born her appearance seemed like it could be right, so Lithorad brought Lilthoniel to Galadriel when she was a baby and Galadriel made the previous statement about her being the EarthStone. Lilthoniel grew up knowing nothing about the Stone other than that it was an artifact of her people, and she never knew about her visit to Lorien.
She never had contact with elves other than her people. But as she grew up she went into Rohan and befriended the men of Rohan, especially the forefathers of Eomer. So she became a legend among the Rohirrim and all the people of Rohan, as the strange woman who rode on the mark, fighting like a man. She has most recently befriended Eomer and he gifted her with a horse, Mithilmane. She is a silver grey mare with a mane so light silver that it almost looks white. She is Lilthoniel's constant companion.
Lilthoniel carries several weapons: a dark brown bow with gold worked into the grain, and pair of bronze knives identical to those of Legolas that were given to her as a gift from Thranduil at birth, and a bronze handled sword with a gracefully curving blade that has the elvish inscription "I am the steel that is wielded by the stone."
The last thing is the most recent event in Lilthoniel's life that has made her full of sorrow. After her most recent trip with the Rohirrim where she was gone for several months, she returned to her home, only to find that the palace had been abandoned by all that lived here, including her father. They all left for the undying lands, but she had no idea and did not even bid her farewell. Her father left her a letter that apologized and then bid her to go into the throne room. There she discovered the crown of Fangorn, which she refused to wear b/c she saw no point in ruling over nothing. She also found the Stone of Nimrodel, with a small note that said : only you can wield it. Lilthoniel set out from Fangorn and has wandered the lands ever since, feeling forsaken and alone, often riding with Eomer, for he is her only friend.
Personality wise Lilthoniel was always unconventional, wanting to be a warrior and not a princess. She is playful, but has biting wit and sarcasm. She is also very proud of her great skill, sometimes a little too much so. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, and an equally deadly enemy.
WHEW! I am glad that is done, although i must apolgize that it is so long winded, what is sad is that I could prbably think of a lot more stuff to put down there, but I think that this is enough.

Heheh, I'll give it a shot for my char, I hope you like it ^^;
Himei Night-Elven, a young half-demon half-elf girl from the dark forests of Sereg-Taur. Her real name is Daewen, daughter of Sora an elf woman who was born in Lothlorien, and Kohaku Bloodmoon, the leader of a demon warrior clan.
She would look like no more than an 18 year old, and she stands no more than 5'1" rather short even for a half-elf. She wears an outfit similar to that of Legolas, only it's sort of blue-ish or periwinkle-ish. But that is when she's off duty. But when she's on duty as marchwarden, she wears a dark gray robe to hide her in the trees. She has black hair tied to a pony tail, pointy ears. Looks like a normal elf...of course there's her blood red eyes, and small fangs hidden behind her rosy pink lips, which easily gives away her having demon blood in her vains.
But despite the fact that she is half-demon, she's very gentle, would never attack anyone unless she knew she had to. On the inside her heart is full of grief and sadness, but she makes a big effort to put a smile on her face trying not to draw any attention to herself. Shy sometimes, but she's very outgoing once you get to know her. And for someone with Elven blood in her veins, she's a total klutz. Crashes into practically everything, trips every few steps. Of course she's also got a very short temper, she can get hurt easily, and makes descisions too quickly. Acts more like a human than an elf or a demon
She was born and raised in the forests of Sereg-Taur, demon territory several miles southeast of Mordor. She and her brother Daizai grew up tough lives emotionally, in Sereg-Taur, where anything less than full demon is considered weak. She and her brother weren't very much welcome among the elves either because of their demon blood. But despite all that they both grew up somewhat happily, learning the arts of both demons and elves. Everything was going fine for Himei and her family. Until it was one day Saruman had launched an attack on Sereg-Taur, as to why would a demon realm be attacked? Kohaku had betrayed Saruman and his plans after falling in love with Sora long before Himei was born. Many of those in Sereg-Taur had been slain, including her younger brother. Himei's mother had gone to the Undying Lands, leaving the half-elf with her father. Kohaku fearing for the safety of his only child, he sent her to Lothlorien, away from the dangers of her home. Before leaving her beloved home, she mounted her horse and looked at her father as he warned her to be more careful, and to use another name if she becomes someone's prey. And so she decided to call herself Himei Night-Elven, then headed off to Lothlorien.
Well, That's about it for now, I'd get into more detail but I'm afraid it'll end up being WAY longer than this ^^; I'll have a picture of Himei soon if anyone would like to see it ^^; Laters!
