Welcome to Potions. Potions are magical liquids, and in this class you will learn how to create them by mixing various ingredients in a cauldron, following very specific recipes, which can sometimes be very time consuming. Most of these mixtures have to be drunk to give their magical effect. It is not for everyone to really understand the beauty of a softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses. Professor Snape will show those who do appreciate the subtle art of potion making, how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death right here in this classroom.
Sincerely, Professor Dumbledore

Lessien walked into the Potions classroom taking her seat among the other students while wondering what they would be doing today.

Telery set her cauldron up next to Lessien and opened her potions book, it contained a lot of side line scribbles, in her own writing and the writing of the previous owner.

Lessien nudged Telery, "What do you think we're going to be doing today? I hope it's something exciting!"

Oh, potions. Pippa found it a rather depressing subject, seeing as it was taught by Professor Snape, one of the most disagreeable people she had ever had the misfortune to meet... and then of course, there was the fact that it was held in a dungeon.
Pippa always wondered if before Hogwarts was a school, if they ever USED the dungeons for anything... and unfortunately neglecting her mixture and then getting ridiculed by Professor Snape.
Yes, Pippa hated this class. But, unfortunately,it was a necessity.
She lid into a seat behind the two girls. She pulled out her collapsible cauldron onto the burner and tapped it lightly with her wand. Instantly it sprang up into a normal sized pot. She got out her text book and materials, and she was ready for class.
"I just hope its something USEFUL," She said, to Lessien.
...She hoped she didn't mind people butting in to conversations. It was a bad habit Pippa had.

Lessien smiled, "I do too. However, I'm also hoping he's in a decent mood today."

Gemma walked into the classroom, eyes scanning the room like a hawk for Professor Snape. She'd met him before, actually and hadn't liked him at all. He was cold, sardonic, and rude. He visited her Uncle Vincent several times a year for various things. Vincent Black had always been a wealthy sponsor for Hogwarts. As people filed into the classroom, Gemma snared a seat next to a girl with straight black hair looking rather sick to be there. She knew the girl Lessien from another class she'd seen her in.

Lessien nodded at her, "Gemma right? We have a few other classes together, and you're in my house aren't you?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I'm Gemma. Gryffindor, too. Aren't you...Lessien? I'm not good with names." She looked at the other girl and smiled too. "Pippa-we met on the train, I believe."

"Yep that's me. I believe all three of us are in the same house."

OOC: Who's taking the part of Snape? Just wondering... "Well, this is reassuring," Gemma said. "I barely know anyone from my own house, let alone anywhere else." Lessien gave a nodd in understanding. "So...does anyone know exactly what his problem is? I mean, there are stories of course-but seriously. No one is that-that vile without having some sort of reason to be." Gemma listened to the irony in her words. It's almost like talking about Uncle.

Lessien frowned, "He can be...decent at times, but I think it dates back to when he went to Hogwarts. To be honest, it really isn't my business and to keep the peace I try to ignore his...well, his, um, ways."
OOC: I believe Inge is doing Snape, but you'd have to ask her. Her user name is Mininirime, and her student character name is Telery.

OOC: Cool, just wondering. =3
"Yes, well," Gemma looked over her shoulder. "He visits my Uncle Vincet on occasion, asking for the most puzzling things." her voice was thoughtful when she said this.
"Puzzling?"
"Yes. Like he was collecting or setting up a large warehouse of the world's rarest findings-you know? Things you just don't ask for." She looked down at her watch.

"Maybe I wouldn't, but it is Snape we're talking about here." Glancing at the Slytherin side section of the room she smiled, "All of them are capable of things we don't realize."

The heavy oak door creaked a little as Elin opened it and entered the dungeon where Snape has his classroom. There was still a table free behind Telery so she sat down there. Elin quite liked potions, it was just Snape that she hated. As a result, she didn't apply herself to the subject as much as she'd like to. She took out the scroll of parchment on which she wrote her notes and waited for class to begin.
