Armies are needed for Moria for any battles or wars that kingdoms will fight. Signing up with the army will earn you 15 Middle Earth Points. Also, and brave acts or if your kingdom wins the battle/war, that will also earn you points. Anyone may sign up for the army, just state these things:

3. Your Position: (ie, Moria Miner, Moria Axemen...)
