Jane thought for a moment, then nodded. "Just give me a moment while I go get my things." Then she walked over to where she was sitting and picked up what she left behind, then headed back to Telery. 'She has a good point about those Slytherins. For people who are of a prestigious bloodline, they can act like such little kids.' she thought to herself, then remembered her bad encounter with a Slytherin sometime earlier. She set her things down after sitting near Telery. It could have easily surprised some of the people who've talked to her and made the assumption that she hated people. But she didn't.

"It's so nice here in the shadows, its my favorite spot in the courtyard." Telery looked as Jane got settled. "Do you have much work already? I don't remember how hard they were back then, but I've alway felt that they forced more homework on you every year."

"That's to be expected," she replied calmly, "as you get older you're expected to work harder if you want to make it in the real world. That's what my dad says."
She took a look around at the courtyard, Jane never took the time to admire the scenery around her. She found it all really nice, almost wishing her parents could come for a visit sometime. 'I wonder why dad never told me he was a wizard?' she thought.

Gemma decided that the garden was her favorite part of Hogwarts so far. Besides the sounds of secret chambers and such, it was so beautiful. She loved flowers, but at home there were none...just black stone. And dead trees.
She saw two girls out of the corner of her eye, but kept her eyes forward. She took to walking by the rose bushes, letting her slender, manicured finger carress the velvety petal, humming a soft lullaby.

Telery Sighed "I guess your dad's right in that one. And if I ever want to become a Auror than I've got zome hard studying in front of me."
Her voice sounded a little depressed, but she knew that when it came down to it she didn't mind studying at all. She only hated it on days like this, when the sun was shining brightly in the sky andthe grass was emerald green, and every plant had blooming flowers scenting the air. She just had to get outside in this kind of weather. "I should stop this complaining about the work all the time, imagine being in a muggle school, having to learn about algebra and stuff, egh!"

Jane shook her head with a light smile. "Actually, on days like these it's a lot easier to study. I get sleepier on gloomier days. At least you can study outside, right?"

"I don't know, I seem to get more distracted outside, with everyone walking around and doing fun stuff. I do go outside to studie whenever I have the chance, but I always find it hard to concetrate. But I guess everyone has their own preferences." Telery heaved a deep sigh as she tried once more to focus on her potions homework. Across the courtyard she saw a girl walking, a Gryffindor, she recognised from her potions class. She decided to call out. "Heya Gemma! Over here! How you doing?"

Gemma gave a small smile and walked over to Telery and a girl she did not know. She smiled bigger as she walked under the tree limbs. "Hello," she greeted in a sing-song tone. She looked at the girl she did not know and smiled. "I'm Gemma." She turned to Telery, noticing the books. "How's studying coming?"

"Not at all, I afraid" But Telery still laughed, it would come to her sooner or later and than the studying would be a piece of cake. "This is Jane, she's a first year Ravenclaw. How are you coming along with your potions? I think I have to revise my opinion of Snape a little, giving this impossible assignment is extremely vile, even for his doing." She growled, but soon a smile ran over her face again, nothing could get her down in weather like this, the sun shining so brightly and all the air smelling of fragrant flowers.

Gemma sighed heavily. "I pulled an all nighter to finish it. That's why I fell asleep during Charms." She gave a wry smile. "I'm just glad it wasn't in Potions. Then we really would have had problems." She smiled at Jane. "Nice to meet you."

Jane looked up at Gemma and nodded to her; "Hello." she said softly.
While the two girl went about on their conversation she grabbed one of her books; the conversation reminded her of why she was out in the first place. She looked through her notes for her transfiguration assignment, but still listened to Telery and Gemma. "I don't mind professor Snape much, he's only doing his job."

"And then some, in my opinion." Gemma replied as she practically collapsed onto the soft grass. "He doesn't have to be so negative and mean-there are plenty of alternatives to stress. Acupuncture, a stress ball, zen..."
Telery giggled. "Snape doing zen."
Gemma pinched her index fingers to her thumbs and closed her eyes. "Haaaum..."
The girls laughed at that, enjoying a good clear of the mind. If there was anything Gemma could do, she knew how to laugh. She sighed, glad to be rid of that nuisance of a guy, Liam and her brother. She loved her brother dearly, but it was nice to be just on her own with friends.
"Isn't Transfiguration getting fascinating?" she asked, eyes sparkling with a topaz blue. "The Animagi astound me...I've-" she stopped here, smiling thoughtfully. "Never mind."

"Maybe he wouldn't be such a disagreeable if students would just pay attention." Jane said, casually looking through notes. She was the only one out of the three who didn't laugh; she didn't see any humor in what the two were saying.

Gemma smiled wrlyly. "Well, Hermoine Granger started out, I hear, a fine listener in every class. He hasn't been any better to her than anyone else. I wonder if there IS a way to please him."

"Of course there is, every one has a soft spot." Telery smiled, she always joked around with the others, but she knew that Snap didn't mind her as much. That didn't really improve her feelings about him all the time, she hated how he always put her friends down. "We just have to find it. I know he warmed up to me, because he thinks I'm something of a potions genie, because I don't follow the exact rules of the book, but try to find the best way to make one, guess it reminds him of his younger self." Telery sniggered softly, "Only I dress better!"
Telery tried to imagine Snape in one of her more fancy robes and laughed out loud. "But still, I have to watch my limits as well, he still puts me in detention everytime I'm late or fall asleep or something."
