Restarting the Board
In here we need to talk about the board and what we want to do with it and what we want to happen. If you guys could please give me your input in here it would be very helpful to me.
Do we want to restart the baord all over fresh and new with the same places and ideas just new threads or not? How can we get people to come back and what not. And I think we need to figure out new administration, just active wise, if your not active taking you off. Become active again you stay.
I need your views guys.
Thanks all, Nessa Eurgenel

Hi Nessa, I agree with you that we should keep the original places and ideas and make new threads. I think that all the threads to which no-one has responded in the last few months or so ought to be deleted because it isn't very attractive for guest to become members if they see that no-one responds or posts anymore. Threads that used to be very popular could be restarted
When I left the forum I hardly anybody was responding seriously to the topics, and I think we should avoid getting that again, because that was what made me loose interest. That ought to be part of the requirements for being a member, besides being active of course.
Just let me know if I can help with the board, Inge

Hey Nessa! Like I told you in the email, I think it would be a good idea to restart the baord all over fresh and new with the same places and ideas just new threads. Perhaps we could also change the lay-out of the site? A new fresh look would also do the board a lot of good. but we should certainly keep the structure that we have now, because it allows a lot of freedom and it ensures a lot of fun . I would love to see this forum alive again, the way it used to be. By the way, have many old members responded to your email? ~Lossefalme~

Thank you so much for coming you guys. All of you are pretty much the only one's that I have heard from, though it was better than in the beginning where I only heard from one member. We need to make sure that all members, or at least the majority know of our intensions. (I'm not sure if every one is getting my e-mails.) And if any one has any ideas for advertising please post them in here and we'll do what we can.
And I like the idea of giving the board a new look. Any suggestions?

I'm afraid I'm not in contact anymore with other members of this forum, though Sarah (Tiniwiel) could ask Katie (Sevein) weither she would like to come back. I have some other members in my AIM-list, but they never come online anymore...
As for the lay out, I think it would look better if we chose one or two colours for the background and then create a nice banner to go in top. And then ofcourse match the rest of the lay-out to the colourscheme of the site.

I agree that we should keep the same sections, just maybe refresh them so to speak. I know I've tried to come back and post in the Hogwarts sections (there was wayyyy too much to catch up on to post in Middle Earth) so that we could keep it going but no one replied to my posts. All I know is that I am very happy that we're planning on getting the board going again. I know I can come and post often as long as I don't get in any more car accidents. My only question is whether or not we are going to keep the same (plot) ideas in each of the threads or begin new ones??

Hey, I was a member before. It would be really cool if things could get restarted. Because it was really sad when things just died. Hope You restart, Claudia

The new look is a good idea, if we can make it look fresh and alive, more people might come. I don't know anything about advertising for the forum, so I can't help with that. Neither am I in contact with any former members . I really do still think that deleting the contents of a lot of the threads will help as well, because all the reading one has to do to catch up is probably to much of a hassle for most guests or members. That would mean, however, that we need to do a lot of thinking about new storylines etc, for the threads. I like the new look idea too. But I also like the way it is now, with the two colours and the background picture. But maybe we could use new colours and a different background (maybe a little more 'happy' and fresh, lighter).

Well, I could advertise at this other LOTR-board where I'm a global Mod, but I'm afraid it's kinda dying down aswell, so I don't think it would do much good.
I just have a request: if we are going to revamp this board, could you please keep the stories from the Roleplaying of Middle Earth? Because they are really stories in their own right, I would find it a shame if they were lost in the process...

All right-
We will definatley keep the role playing in Middle Earth, I agree with the fact that they are stories. Besides, it would be nice to keep some writings from before.
Now I think that it would be good if we made threads that were the same or based on already exsisting threads as well as making new threads with totaly new ideas. If any one comes up with anything go ahead and post it in here or what not, or you could wait to make a thread yourself when we get this whole thing situated. I'm going to work on clean up hopefuly this weekend.
If any one has color ideas/picture ideas go ahead and suggest em. I want to make sure that this board is not an adminstrator's board but a member's board.
And any advertising when we're ready would be good.

Oh my gosh! I had completely forgotten about this board! I'm so sorry. c_c;; Anyways, I'm still, here, active, and ready to toss in my two cents:
I think the board should be restarted. I don't know how many others have lost track of what was going on, but for those of us that have it would be great to have a chance to join in the RPing without feeling so lost. If things are restarted, I would recommend either erasing the old threads, or moving them to a seperate board where some of you guys can continue where you are. But it's up to you guys, really. ^^;

I kinda liked it that both HP and LotR are on this board. I'm a fan of both and the RP-ing is fun in both 'worlds', so I'd like to keep em both. But if not, then please make this a LotR board, so that there will still somewhere where we can roleplay in middle earth, because I do think that the greatest, stories came from that part of the forum.
About the threads in RP-ing in Middle Earth, it would be nice to keep them, because they did grow out to real stories, but because nobody has done anything with them it would be best to close them or something (if that's possible) so that people know that these are finished, but everyone can still read them if they'd want to. I know that some of those stories aren't really finished, but some of the members who were active in them haven't come back, and it would be kind of weird to go on without them.
About the miscellaneous topics. There are a few very nice threads in there, the ones where we described ourselves and where members posted stories and poems and art. It would be shame to get rid of those as well. But most of the miscelleaneous topics could be removed, because in the end nobody posted anything serious anymore.

I think two RP's can still be run in the same board. :/ It's still possible with some good organizing; even with people who haven't read the LOTR books, someone can put up a thread, and put up links to websites like the Encylopedia of Arda. And/or a seperate board where people can ask questions about the LOTR world, and other members can answer them. At least that way you won't have tons of PM's/emails/etc with questions. :3

That could be a solution. I didn't realise that you got so many questions about middle earth, but himei's proposal could work, and we could make a thread in which people could ask questions and than anybody who knows the answer and feels like it could just answer, that way the people who do really want to rp in middle earth can still get a chance and those who don't want to, won't be bothered with it.

I'm going to keep the baord with two worlds, it was originally started that way and I think it should be kept that way. Besides, I got some PM's asking me to keep the board the way it was with both places a while back, and I promised I'd let it stay the way it is with there being ME and HP.
I like Himie's idea, I think we'll put a question forum about both sections. Most people have read HP, however there are some who are ignorant, though there will probably be more questions about ME lol.
Does any one want to vote on color scheme and background pictures? Or should I figure that out myself?
