OOC How is a girl ever going to into this?!? I should never have gone away Telery was feeling quite agitated, the evening had started out so good, they'd had so much fun preparing and everyone looked marvelous. Thinking back to a few hours ago, a small smile appeared on Telery's face, but only for a moment, after which it vanished like snow in the sun.
A few metres away from her she saw Draco and Lessien standing, and she headed over to them, keeping her big skirts together as she walked carefully. Unlike many others she wasn't dressed like a famous which of old times, but as a famous muggle, Marie Antoinette, Queen of France. She was wearing a big, full pink and white skirt, in the 18th century style, with a tight bodice with short puffed sleeves. Underneath it she was actually wearing a corset, just for the fun of it. The dress was white and covered with pink flowers, and diamonds and sashes and lace. To top it all, she had covered her normally red hair with a high big white blond poudered wig, which was also decorated with pink prowers and diamonds. To finish it off she was wearing white gloves, pink shoes, and several pink rings, and a beautiful necklace.
As she gathered her skirts and elegantly walked over to Lessien she shot worried glances to Gemma, who was still looking awfully pale, but knowing that too many people around wasn't good for her right now, she made a silent promise to check up on her later. "Hey Less, are you ok? That was a wicked great thing you did back there!" Telery said while taking Lessien in a big hug. "I have to give you one thing Draco, you've got yourself a pretty amazing girl. If she'd do that fr a friend, just think about what she would go through for a boyfriend."

Lessien looked at Telery startled and a bit pale herself, "How are you feeling?"
"I'm actually doing pretty good," her friend replied with a smile.
Lessien smiled at her boyfriend, "Umm, I'm going to go with Telery to get a quick drink, but I'll be right back okay?" Not waiting for Draco to respond she quickly grabbed Telery and the two made their way towards the refreshment table.

"Needed to get away?" Telery asked, eyebrows raised, green eyes sparkling.
"That was a close call though, just then. I don't think I ever saw you that angry. I was a little scared, I must admit." She said with a serious face, but Lessien could see the sparkle in her eyes.
Telery raised her hands to feel whether her wig was still on correctly. "Man, this thing is a hassle, I'm never gonna be in the Witches Council." She said with a smile.
OOC as a reply on your question in DADA, yes let's make me a dashing fellow ;D, and where is a better place to meet such a man, than at ball?

Liam had finally made his way over to Gemma. He kneeled down so he was looking up at her.
"God, Gem." He said, looking incredibly guilty. "Are you alright?"
Gemma nodded. "Yeah,"
Garron looked wary of his best friend for the first time.
"What's with you?" Liam asked Garron, blissfully unaware of the fight that was raging between his friends.
Garron pulled Liam away from Gemma. "What are you thinking, kissing Gemma? Are you playing my sister?"
Liam looked at his best friend. He felt like he had just been punched in the gut. "I'm not 'playing' anyone."

Gemma's heart began to race painfully, her eyes following her brother and Liam. She tried to stand, but ended up having her knees buckle underneath her and plopping back down in the chair again. Pippa was a few steps away, a nail in between her teeth worrying too. Gemma started to feel sick at some of the words she was catching...
"...'playing' anyone." And Garron's eyes flickered to Gemma, and her heart did double time.
Garron don't, she thought desperately.
Liam had caught the glance and he was taken aback, startled and astonished. "You can't be serious." He said.
Garron crossed his arms, "She's my sister-I have to be serious."
Gemma wrung her wrists nervously, ready to throw herself across the room if need be. Please don't do anything stupid...either of you...

"Are you saying I'm not serious about her?" Liam said. Now, he was just getting offended. In normal male fashion, the two of them swaggered closer together. Liam poked Garron on the chest, and they were looking as if they could commit murder.
Pippa darted between them.
"Guys, please, not at the Yule Ball," Pip squeaked. She turned to Garron.
"Please, Gem's upset enough as it is, she doesn't need this now."
She turned to Liam, then back to Garron.
Nothing was working!

Pippa wished she could shrivel up and wish all of this talk away. Gemma wished she could turn invisible. Garron wished his sister had gone to an all-girl's school like the original plan. Liam wished his best friend wasn't such a git. They all wished the same wish though-that this would stop. But some wishes aren't granted...
...in a timely fashion.
"I knew at first it was just playing around," Garron said evenly. "But you've gone too far, now."
Liam raised both eyebrows. "Gare, I think your sister can make descions for herself. She's sixtee-"
"Pippa, move!" Garron suddenly rasped about to lunge at Liam, who remained cool and calm. Pippa scrambled out of the way, stumbling over her gown towards Gemma, who looked on with a frightened expression.
"I don't want you around my sister,' Garron said in a biting tone.
Liam's eyes were firm and gleaming with determination. "Too late-nine points couldn't keep me from her now."
Garron's fist came low down by his hip and across his body, nearly coming into contact with Liam's chin-however, the Irish wizard turned to the left and faced Garron with his wand thrusted out, a long spark of electric green sending him flying backward, and landing on his back.
Out of all four of them, no one could believe what had happened.

There was a silent hush as everyone evaluated the situation, and for the second time, everyone in the Great Hall watched.
Pippa was the first to react- she screamed and ran to Garron, scooping his head into her arms.
She brushed the hair out of his eyes, hoping to God he hadn't gotten...a concussion, or something bad like that.
No, he was rolling his head back and forth from side to side in an effort to wake himself up.
"Are you alright?" She said softly, placing a hand on his forehead to calm him.
What he looked like was angry and embarrassed. Garron pushed Pippa off of him and got up to settle this once and for all.
Unfortunately for him, a very old man with half-moon glasses and a very long white beard interfered.
"That is quite enough, Mr. Darling, Mr. O'Hara. You have disrupted the Yule Ball twice now, Mr. Darling."
Garron stared determinately at the floor, as if it was the floor that attacked him, not his... "best friend". He instinctively gripped his wand tighter.
Pippa tried to hold his hand, but he jerked away. The girl shrank back. That jerk was as good as a slap in the face to her...
"Now, either apologize, or one of you leave the Ball until you have cooled down."
The "men" locked gazes and it was clear to everyone present that they weren't apologizing.
Slowly, Garron walked forward...
And passed Liam and Gemma by as he continued to walk out the door to the Great Hall. He slammed the doors behind him and sat on the steps, cradling his head in his hands as he groaned over the huge headache he had suddenly amassed.

As everyone else, Lessien and Telery, stood watching this second disruption silently. "That Garron sure doesn't have his night tonight!" Telery jumped in surprise as a voice commented on Garron's departure.
"Elin! You look great!" Telery embraced her friend for a moment. Then she turned again, locking her eyes back on the scene of attention.
"I can't belief the mess their making of everything. I wonder what got him upset this time?" She asked with a short glance at Lessien, who always seemed to know every gossip in the castle *OOC: I mean that in a good way*. "They never fought each other before, always someone else."
"I think that Garron likes Liam as a friend, but not as a brother-in-law" Lessien too looked at the doors through which Garron has vanished, only a few seconds ago.
"Rather selfish, don't you think" Elin's voice came soft, and was almost overwhelmed by the music that had begun playing again. People slowly stopped looking at Liam, Gemma and Pippa, and started dancing again.
Telery looked at the three, her friends standing close together. She made a step in their direction, but them decided otherwise, she could better leave them alone for a moment, let them calm down. Her fussing over them wouldn't help. So she turned back to Lessien and Elin.
"Do you want some punch? Or something else?"

Elin gave Telery a smile, but couldn't help to be dazzled by the way she looked. The 18th century dress was full of glamour and splendour and Telery looked simply breathtaking in it. She herself had chosen to dress op as Vivienne, high priestess of Avalon and the love of Merlin.
"Yes, I'd like some punch. I'll walk with you if you don't mind? Perhaps we can get into the party atmosphere again once we've walked about a little." Elin threw a last look at Gemma and Liam as they walked out of the Hall. It was such a shame that the ball had to be interrupted this way, espescially after they had been looking forward to it so much.

Nessa sighed shaking her head and turned away from where the dispute had taken place. It was completely stupid, she thought irritated. Gemma was old enough to make mistakes and get her heart broken. Garron did not want her heart to get broken, and neither did she or any of Gemma's friends. But it was part of the natural process of growing up. She walked over to the group that had formed and sighed moving her dark hair from her face, she had no idea where Aiden had gone, he had just simply disapeared. And frankly, she hated being left alone.

Coming back from the bevarage counter, carrying for glasses of punch, Elin and Telery joined Lessien and Nessa. "I thought you might want one too." She handed Nessa a drink."What a party this has turned out to be." Elin sighed."Yeah, action packed, but not with the action I'd like to see." Telery looked longingly at the dancefloor, but she had gone alone. Not that she hadn't been asked by anyone, just not by the right one. From the corner of her eyes she saw a group of seventh years of several houses. From the corner of her eyes she could also see the tall blond one in that group. She sighed.OOC: sorry, this is all I have time for, more will come tomorrow

She shook her head. If he didn't want to go with her, she wasn't going to pine away without him. She could have fun with a date, she'd done it before. She didn't care about him. She was relieved, however, that he hadn't asked anybody, it wasn't just she who had been slighted.
"What are you looking at? Or should I ask who?" Lessien had her notorious smile on her face as she looked at the group of seventh years. "Ow him. I told you, you should've asked him yourself. I could still do it for you."
"No don't. It's his loss, right? I'm gonna have fun." A fake frown appeared on her face. "How to have fun at a ball? Oh yeah, that's it. We ought to be dancing." With a big smile she dragged her friends on to the dance floor.

Every one laughed at Telery's quick change of subject. They had gotten too used to it with the others not to be able to catch it.
"I would bet a pot of gold that they'll be dancing together by the end of the night." Nessa whispered, Lessien laughed.
"I would not dare wager against that bet." She said. Elin nodded her head in agreement, Telery not knowing of their quiet whispers.
"Especially when we're going to be the one's to make sure it happens." Elin added.

Elin looked at Telery, Lessien and Nessa defiantly. "Well, we owe it to Pip and Gem, don't we? They've been looking forward to this ball as much as we have. If it weren't for Garron's "brotherly protection", they wouldn't be in this mess. But by Merlins beard, how can we get them to atleast act peacefully for the remainder of the night?"
A long silence followed as Elin looked the girls in the eyes. "By the way Telery, where is Lilly? I haven't seen her at all tonight!"
