Beyond Hagrid's hut you can see a rather large dark forest. It hold a vast amount of trees, but it is offlimits to all Hogwart's students save but an occasional dentention or class with Hagrid; Care for Magical Creatures. The forest is a home for many dangerous creatures.
Acromantulas are giant spiders that dwell in the very heart of the forest in a dome like nest.
Centaurs are creatures that avoid humans and try not to involve themselves into human affairs.
Grawp the giant lives at the back of the forest and has enemies with the centaurs. This giant is actually the only living relative of Hagrid.
Thestrals are huge winged horses with white shining eyes, dragonish faces and necks, and skeletal black bodies. They are invisible to anyone who hasn't seen death. They have an amazing sense of direction and move magically fast through the air.
Unicorns are extremly fast and powerful magical creatures that are seldom hurt. Unicorn hair can be used to as binding on injured animals because of it's strength.
Fluffy the three headed dog lives in the forest as well. He is very large and very dangerous. However it has been said that music can help him sleep so as to let you pass.
Among these creatures it has been said but not proved that werewolves and trolls inhabit the forest as well. Needless to say one would want to advoid these creatures as well.OOC: This info was found here: www.hp-lexicon.org/hogwarts/castle/forest.html

Slowly Nessa and Lessien walked into the forest.
"Lumos," Nessa said her wand lighting up, and looked over to her friend to see her do the same with hers.
"Nessa check out all these trees." Lessien softly remarked.
"I think that's why it's so dark in here," Nessa began, "The trees make it so no light can come in."

Lessien nodded. "To think this is what my backyard looks like." Nessa muttered. Lessien looked at her and she shrugged. "Not as dark though, and there is a lot more undergrowth." They continued walking being cautious about where they stepped until Lessien stopped.
"Did you hear that?" She asked.
"Yes, I was just hoping it was my imagination." She whispered in reply.
"Where was it you saw this thing in your dream?" Lessien asked.
"Between the middle of the forest- and Hagrid's hut." She replied still hushed.

"Then I guess we're going forward then." She gave Nessa a weak smile, "Onward ho right?"
Almost as if they planned it the girls took a deep breath at the same time and walked forward. Deeper into the dark woods.
"It's like night in here. That's odd don't you think?" Lessien remarked as she looked around while walking.
Nessa nodded before speaking, "I believe the darkness is due to the immensely tall trees and the amount growing here."

Lessien nodded her head as they went on. "Wait." She said stopping. "There it is again." She said.
"It sounds like the cry of a wolf." Nessa said. The girls exchanged glances as another call was made.
"More than wolf?" Lessien asked.
"There are rumors about warewolfs around here... aren't there?" She asked. Their grips grew tighter on one another.
"Yeah, there are." She said. "Wait!" Nessa jumped as she called out but looked to where she pointed. "Maybe they are just regular wolves." She said. Nessa looked and saw the large white wolf staring at them. Nessa looked at Lessien as if she were crazy.
"And that is better?" She asked.
"Yes." She said in a matter of factly voice.
"If we just leave him alone, maybe he wont bother us." Lessien told her. Nessa looked at the wolf he was growling in a low familiar tone. But Lessien, like her was determined so they went on. Until they saw a shadow pass quickly, they paused. Lessien looked back. "Well, the wolf is gone." She said.
"That is comforting. But I think we have a different kind of wolf on our hands now." She said trying to see the shadow again.
"Fantastic."
OOC: White wolf- yes been planning on his since the dream ^_^

"Well there's nothing to do about it now except go forward." Lessien stated, proud that her voice didn't betray any of her fear.
"We could go back as well." Nessa glanced around cringing when the sound of another wolf came with the wind.
"You know that's not a real option Ness. We must go deeper into the forest."

And so they did, but Nessa swore she saw more and more shadows every time they took another step.
“How deep do you think we have to go?” She asked. Lessien shook her head.
“I have no idea.” She told her. They still walked ignoring the growls and baying that some times seemed far and other times very close. It seemed like they had gone in farther than they thought the forest went until they decided they needed to stop. Their feet ached and fear still had a good hold on their nerves.
Lessien sighed. “Do you think it might not actually be here?” She asked. Nessa looked down at her hands. Her wand was in her right and every time she heard something she wanted to mutter a spell, or tell herself to wake up. But she knew for a fact that this was not a dream... not this time.
“I don’t know… Maybe it was just my head. Maybe I am just paranoid and…” She was tempted to say crazy but she refrained knowing her friend would contradict the suggestion.
“Do you want to head back?” Lessien asked. Nessa shrugged.
“I don’t know.” She replied. They were both still wary and afraid and they played with their wands as if something might pop out any second. And something did. Just as they fell into silence a werewolf came jumping out. Nessa and Lessien jumped up muttering surprised and frightened cries as they stood in utter shock.
“Ness. It’s a werewolf.” Lessien managed to whisper.
“Yes, I can see that.” Nessa told her trying to keep her voice from shaking. He was looking from one to the other licking his lips as if they would make a good meal. He growled and both held out their wands ready to utter the first spell that came to mind. It jumped; they raised their wands higher thinking rapidly. But the black mass of fur was suddenly flying back. The white wolf they had seen before had attacked it. Nessa and Lessien stared in wonder until Lessien came to her senses.
“Nessa- c’mon lets get out of here!” Lessien shouted. Nessa stared in horror as the two very different wolves snapped and clawed at one another. She seemed to be totally paralyzed and found herself very afraid for the wolf.
Lessien grabbed her hand and tugged at her until she turned to look at her. Her eyes seemed to come back to life in an instant when she realized what was happening.
“Lets go!” Nessa looked back at the fight still terrified and ran with Lessien.
“Where are we going?” She called. Lessien shook her head.
“Away from two beasts fighting.” She said, Nessa stopped.
“One of those beasts just saved our lives.” She said quietly.
“All right, one is nice, the other isn’t. And you never know, he could have attacked the werewolf just because he saw him there and he was a threat. Don’t worry about it, our white furry hero is sure to be fine. He would not have gone after that thing if he were not sure of himself. Now we need to figure out what we are going to do!”

"We also need to figure out how we get back out of here Ness." Lessien stated, frowning when her friend kept looking back, "Perhaps before we do we should make sure the white wolf is safe?"
"Could we....should we?" Nessa whispered.
"I think we must." She sighed, "Like you said, the wolf saved our lives. Maybe we could do a spell on the werewolf? Knock him out or something?"

Nessa nodded her head and together the two hurried back staying out of the werewolf's sight. Nessa stiffled a gasp when she saw the blood on the wolf's white coat. She looked helplessly at Lessien, she could not seem to think of any spells. But she knew they would both need to cast it for it to be effective against a werewolf.
"Any ideas she asked?" Lessien nodded her head and told her the spell quickly. And together they yelled it-
"Petrificus Totalus!" The wolves looked towards the girls in unison but it was the wight one who leapt away as the spell hit the werewolf. For a moment the girls were afraid that the spell had not worked, but all at once he froze up and fell backward. Both let out a relieved cheer and Nessa jumped up to try and approach the wolf.
Lessien watched cautiously as Nessa went to it. He stayed still waiting for her to kneel down. He watched warily as she put her hands over her mouth as she stared at his wound.
"Oh Lessien he's hurt." Lessien knelt down beside her and examined the wound. The wolf seemed to look at it as if he were noticing it for the first time.
"Looks like our little hero could use some bandanging up." Lessien said thoughtfully. She paused when she heard Nessa tear her robe at the bottom. Nodding her head when she looked at her the two wrapped it around his upper leg where the wound was. He flinched and hummed his voice deep in his chest but it only seemed to be because of the uncomfort. When they were finished Nessa stroked his head gently. She smiled.
"He is the only male I have ever had the guts to go to." She said with a laugh. "And he is more likely to bite off my hand then a boy." Lessien smirked.
"Nah, he seems friendly enough. Besides, we could always work on your nerve with a certain some one." She said Nessa's head snapped in her direction her eyes set into a small glare.
"Now lets not worry about that until we are out of the forest." She said. Lessien shrugged.
"All right. Now do you remember how to get out?" She asked. Nessa looked around and laughed.
"Nope." When the two went back to look at the wolf they found he was gone. Nessa sighed and listened as Lessien stood up. When she felt her hand stretched out towards her she looked at it and held onto it as she helped her up.
"Come on. We'll figure it out."

It had been a long time since she'd gone into the forest. The last time she had been here, it had been at midnight, an all girl's dare to see how far you could get before you got scared. She and another girl with glasses that looked like the bottom of coke bottles got so far they got lost. It had taken them all morning to find their way back. Gemma had a good feeling though that Liam wouldn't get lost.
"Do you think they're in trouble?" She asked concerned.
Liam looked totally in control, even scratched up like he was. "I'm not sure-but I don't want to take a chance." He said, eyes alert.
She nodded, telling herself over and over again that none of the things she thought she was seeing out of the corners of her eyes were there. Unconsciously, she stepped closer behind him. Without really thinking of what it might mean to him, and more along the lines of trying to ignore the darkness and fog, Gemma took his hand and kept her eyes just ahead.
Liam looked up and grinned. "Don't worry, Sunshine. I won't let anything happen to my nightingale."
Gemma didn't smile or laugh, but she did feel better. She looked around and sniffed.
"Do you know where they might be?" Liam asked, all seriousness back again.
"No idea."
---
"Why does my sister always have to be wit him during stupid times like these?" Garron grumbled as he and Pippa made they're way toward the forest's edge. They'd found a teacher, and then ran as fast as they could.
"Do you think they're all right?" Pippa asked.
"Pip, for once," Garron said. "I have no idea what's going on."

Nessa and Lessien walked in what they thought was the right direction. How could they know they were going in circles and that a circle was forming around them in the process?
“Less.” Nessa said.
“Yeah?” She asked.
“We have no idea where we are going.” She told her.
“Pretty much.” Lessien sighed.
“And I can see things out there.” She told her. Lessien paused.
“What things?” She asked. Nessa frowned.
“There are more werewolves.” She told her. Lessien nodded showing she understood.
“Yes… well. Lets try to focus on getting out of here. Maybe we wont have to worry about them.” She said her tone hopeful. But they were both doubtful.
"Lessien."
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry." She told her.

"Wassya friends doin' in the Forest, now, Pip?" Hagrid said, looking down at the small girl before him.
He had been ambushed by Pippa and Garron, begging for their help, with barely any explanation whatsoever, just that they were chasing four friends in the Forest.
"Hagrid, we have no idea." Pippa confessed honestly. "Only that we have to find them. Now."
Suddenly there was a horrible howl behind them, causing Pippa's hair to stand up at the nape of her neck. She hoped that howl was Gemma; but she knew deep down it couldn't have been, that she was just fooling herself.
She turned around, praying that it was Gemma. But what she saw was definitely not her best friend. Even though Defense Against the Dark Arts was one of her worst subjects, it was very easy to see that it was a werewolf.
Pippa screamed.
Garron's head perked up at her scream, and Hagrid pointed his pink umbrella at the werewolf.
"PIPPA!" Garron yelled. "GET AWAY FROM HIM!"
Pippa scurried back, but tripped over a tree root and fell on her bottom. The werewolf rushed at her, but before she knew it, Garron-the-buck was rushing at the werewolf, antlers bared, ready for attack.
----
"LESSIEN?" Gemma called. "NESSA?"
"Gemma?" A soft voice off in the distance called. It was Nessa! Suddenly, a growl and a scream in a distance... growls sounding like it came not from one head, but three. FLUFFY!

Nessa and Lessien ran through the fog, back around the trees that stood just before Fluffy. They practically dived to get to Liam and Gemma. Liam held out his arm, pushing Gemma behind him as the dog sniffed out.
All four of them stood behind Liam, who held a determined face.
"Gemma," he whispered. "Get them out of here."
Gemma kept one eye on the giant 3 headed dog and whispered back, "Liam, I'm not leaving you here." she said firmly.
"Send Garron," He whispered back as the dog tried to sniff them out through the fog and darkness.
"Gemma come on!" Lessien whispered, tugging at her arm.
"Liam-!" Gemma sounded as if she were on the brink of tears, but Liam turned and looked at her.
With a fiery determination in his eyes, he kissed her cheek and whispered, "Sunshine, go get your brother. Now."
Something within his eyes, that set ambition gave her drive and she nodded. Gemma turned and in the dark the three girls fumbled and began to run back. Just as they were a couple yards away, they heard a snarling growl that definitely wasn't Fluffy.
Running through the forest, they saw a light.
"It's Hagrid's hut!" Nessa shouted.
But before they could reach the hut, noises a little farther into the woods. A yelping sound retreated, and as they came up, the fog cleared to reveal Hagrid and Pippa standing just feet away from a beautifully shining nine point buck.
"Garron." Gemma sighed breathless as the buck transformed simply back into her brother.
He held out his arms and she flew into them. "Garron, you have to go!" she said, nothing but concern and fear in her voice.
"What's wrong Gem?" He asked, worried now too.
"It's Liam," she said. "Fluffy found him."
Hagrid's face turned pale.

"Well, come on, don't just stand there!" Gemma said, grabbing her best friend's hand and her brothers in her other, and pulling them along. When they arrived, Liam, in his doggish form, was barking at Fluffy, who was inching to Lessien and Nessa, who were holding each other in terror. "Hagrid, don't you know anyway to stop Fluffy?" Pippa cried. "'Course I do, raised him from a pup, I did... bought him off of some Greek chappie in Harry's first year," "HAGRID, FOCUS!" Garron cried, holding his wand at the ready. "Oh! You just sing him a bit of a tune, and he pops right off ter sleep." Pippa wracked her brain trying to think of a "tune". "A tune... a tune.." AHA! "You'll walk unscathed through musket fire, No ploughman's blade will cut thee down, No cutlass pull will mark thy face, And you will be my ain true love, And you will be my ain true love" Pippa might have been off-key, but she didn't care. She sang that stanza of one of her favorite songs over and over and over. Slowly, everyone joined in, and even Liam howled in harmony. Slowly, Fluffy's eyes drooped and he began to snore. Pip gave a cry and leaped into Garron's arms, enveloping him in a relieved hug. Everyone let out a breath. Fluffy let out a bark, waking up, nobody was singing anymore. Pippa let out a gasp, and this time Gemma sang. "It seems like only yesterday You were just a child at play Now you're all grown up inside of me Oh, how fast those moments flee Once we watched a lazy world go by Now the days seem to fly Life is brief, but when it's gone Love goes on and on " Fluffy drifted off to sleep, and they ran.

"Holy crap!" Lessien held tightly to Nessa's hand. "Wait," she stopped, "Nessa we still haven't done what we came here for." Shaking her head she looked at her friend, "We have to solve this. Now."
"After all that? Lessien we need to get out as fast as we can." Nessa protested. "We're going to get hurt if we stay here."
"Any way you look at it Ness, we haven't solved your vision and I...I was there. Trust me when I say it needs to be solved. Fast." She watched as the others ran off. "If you must go with them," she paled, "then go. But I have to stay and figure this out. I saw what was there. It was evil Nessa, and if we don't stop it, if I don't do anything, then everyone at the castle will be in grave danger. I care about too many people there to go back."
"But..."
"No." Lessien started walking backwards, "I can't let that happen. Draco..." her body shook at the thought of her boyfriend meeting up with Nessa's nightmare. "He has enough evil to deal with in his home. I won't allow it."
