I thought it would be nice if there would be a place where we can share our experiences of the day with each other. With two purposes: we can unwind by throwing it all of our chest and at the same time we can get to know each other better : ).
So, what was my day like? Well, you should know that at the moment I'm doing a practical training at the laboratory of toxicology at my university (University of Maastricht, The Netherlands). So this morning I had to be there at 8.30 (way too early...) to replicate some DNA of cells that I had cultured with my labpartner and that we had exposed to grapefruitextract (amongst other things). For those of you who do not know what DNA is: it's the blueprint of who and what you are, and carries every single of your physical characteristics. And every singlecell in your body carries it's copy of DNA. The research that I'm involved in wants to find out in which aspect substances in grapefruit evoke a different respons from the toxin dioxin (you probably have heard of that before), because they interact in the exact same way with cells. This is quite unusual ofcourse, since grapefruit is considered to be healthy and dioxin a very harmful toxin. After all of this (which took me about 8 hours in total, and the machine wasn't even finished yet when I left), I still had a meeting with my education committee, of which I'm the president. This committee belongs to the student union of my study, molecular life sciences. But that's what my day looked like in a nut shell : ).

Ooh, science, fun. I love the stuff on genetics. X3
Here's what I did today: Aside from putting up with family drama, I worked on some comics. I did some toning for one, and concept art for another. I finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha, started on Alice in Wonderland. I also updated my LJ, get everything off my chest. Then I spent sometime wondering how the heck I'm supposed to watch Advent Children when the remote control won't work (I need it to set the TV to aux mode). Right now I'm just sitting here wondering what to work on. That's pretty much it. :/

It sounds like you had some fun today. I slept in. Then I played FFX for a bit, hopped on Guild Wars, had food and then I had to do chores XD. Then I read this book called Dusk for a bit and now I'm just hanging out on the internet. But other than that my day sucked. Lol.

FFX...Oh how I miss playing that so. As for the past half a day since I updated, worked on my little projects, still wondering how on earth I'm to watch AC. I napped a little after working on some sketches. Then I did some day dreaming, followed by trying to remember a poem I heard in a J-Drama, it was about the rain and I was reminded of it as soon as I realized it was raining today. It was a very nice poem too. ^_^

Well today I did little:
I woke up at like 10.20 in my bf's bed, showered, played some piano, made breakfast for the two of us (I make a killer egg) played more piano, took the bus and than the train home (while my bf went somewhere else). In the train I read a bit in Virginia Woolf's The Lighthouse, called Jen to invite her to come and bbq with me and my parents tomorrow after we com back from AAchen, but she had other plans, so just shopping it is. Thatn I took a nap. After a 1,5 hour trainride I arrived in my parents home town: Landgraaf. waited ten minutes for my brother to pick me up. Bought an icescream, turn on the computer, came online and now I'm watching football: Germany vs. Costa Rica.
That was my day to day. I think I'm gonna study while watching football. Maybe, if something extraordinarily interesting happens, I'll update later.

My day wasn't that exciting today. I had to work (I work in a restaurant) and there was hardly anything to do. Not surprising really is it was 30 degrees celsius ( 86 degrees Fahrenheit) AND the Dutch national Soccer team was playing against Serbia-Montenegro in the World Cup (the first game, we won!). But somehow I still managed to work 8 hours before I was sent home. And since that I've cleaned out the hutch of my rabbit, read a chapter in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and now I'm on the computer. Actually I should be doing stuff for my studies, but I'm SO in need of the summer holiday. Only three more agonizing weeks to go.... ( Istill have to do so much ).

Today my day was completely colloured orange. I went to watch the national soccer team in Tilburg, it was loads of fun, especially since they won. I wnet with my boyfriend and his fraternity brothers and their girlfriends. I had a lot of fun. Yestersday in Aachen I bought some orange equipment, so I lended into the crowd perfectly. For the rest I didn't do much, which is pretty bad, since my first exam will be on friday

*steals mic* My turn. ¦:B
Hokay, today I worked on some new designs, one for a new character, and three for some pre-existing ones. While I did that, I downloaded some new music, which is pretty hard since most J-pop consists of upbeat, high-pitched singers. Then I worked on the latest drawing for a while, and a new LJ icon. I read my book for a while, then tried to come up with a new storyline for an RP thread in a board of mine. Then I goofed around with my sister.
The day before that, I went out with my friends and celebrated a friend's birthday, even though it was a week late. We went over to eat and treated her, then we walked around the Fine Arts Festival, then the mall, got us some drinks and headed to the park where much comedy occured. X3
There, I tried not to make it long. c_c *hands the mic to someone else*

*My Turn*
So… well, today wasn’t all that interesting. I slept in until about 10:40’ish I think. Then noticed the bathroom down here needed to be cleaned (which I seem to be the only one who does though its hard sometimes because of other things). So I cleaned it and spent about ten minutes killing the fruit flies. I hate it when people put fruit in the trash in the bathroom even after its gone the stupid things stick around and it’s like they come out of thin air!
Lets see, I read some of a book, went to a meeting, deposited a check, went home- and pretty much finished the novel I was reading earlier. And I ate a chicken leg that was nasty tasting. Oh and I watched Hell’s Kitchen, that’s always a fun one lol.

My turn again. Since today isn't even half gone, I'll do yesterday.
I got up early (9 'o clock isn't that early for most people, but for me it is) and started studying, which I did in the cindering heat, sometimes my room is like an oven. In the mean time My bf watch more World Cup football. In the afternoon I we went to the center of Nijmegen, looked for bathing suits (for him, I've already got three) went to a pizzeria (Donatello's) and went to Marie-Antoinette , which I loved, because it was funny and a true story. After that we decided to walk home, where we were attacked and chased by horse-flies, which I think are really freaky. When I was little my mum once told me that a Horse-fly sting can be lethal, and that if one stings you other around might come to sting you as well, so I completely lost it when we were walking home and ran away really hard, leaving my bf to fend for himself. Luckily neither of us was stung by them.
When we arrived at my room again, my bf got some bad news about one of his nephews, which kind of downed us both. I tried to study a little but, was largely unsuccessful, so to distract ourselves we watched sex and the city and went to bed.

I haven't really done much in the past twenty-four hours. Been trying to fix something up in another RP I'm in. Been working on a contest entry in DA. I began sewwing a little wallet out of an old pair of jeans; saw a friend make a purse out of her old jeans a few years ago, thought it was pretty cool. Plus I've had the urge to sew something. Anyway, I worked a little more on a story I'm writing. The downside of the past twenty-four hours is opening up a nasty can of worms on DA. I made a silly complaint in a board that was meant for silly complaints, then this person with the holier-than-thou attitude showed up. I told him off in the most calm way possible, so it's all good, I hope.
Then I sat idly around for a moment, updated a couple of things. I've also polled around in Gaia just to kill time, since I didn't feel like doing anything important. Then the rest of the time, I've spent trying to recover from the fellow who believes he's right about everything. That's pretty much it, basically.

Well, I had a very very good day today, because I passed an exam that I reall really had to pass, or else I would be in so much trouble, because I would't be able to do it again till next january, and several exams of my first year would ge deleted if I hadn't passed it, so I'm pretty psyched about that. Especiall since I think I also passed my pronuciation exam, where you have to read aluod a few texts and answer a few questions, it gets taped and that a teacher desides whether my British accent is up to standard. And I also passed my fluency oral, during which you have to converse in English with a friend about a topic you shose. My friend had chosen the disapearance of Icecream vans in England and I shose the stupid things they say about harry potter and Lord of the Rings. I totally get annoyed by those articles. There was one that said , and I qoute: "Though not as overtly and sympathetically occultic as the Harry Potter series, Tolkien's fantasies are unscriptural and present a very dangerous message." And then it goes on about howlord of the rings and harry potter will make children and in fact all readers become completely bad and stuff. What a nonsen. And then there was an article that actually made me think for a moment. It said that Lord of The Rings was racist, and it made some good points, it is true that all good people are mostly white and all bad people are black. But than I realised that that was actually that film working on you, because that disctinction is not always as clear in the books, and besides, there are evil white persons as well, even in the books. Anyway, I don't know why I keep reading those kinds of articles, because that always get me completely worked up. For the rest I haven't done much, I spent half of the morning, after the exams, sitting with my friend in the lunchroom of the University, and talking about boys and everything that has to do with them and a lot more stuff. After that I went back to my 'dormroom', did a bit of laundry, continued packing my suitcase, and watched a little the Sound of Music (I can watch that movie a thousand times and still not be bored by it ). Then I did my groseries with a friend (Milou) and updated the board. That's the status of my day up til now, I think I'll study a little more today and read a little as wel.

Lord of the Rings is far from racist. What are those people thinking? ;; The past day or two have been pretty frustrating in terms of technology. I tried to upgrade my computer to Windows XP, but it didn't work out; it was so bad, I ended up having to format one of my drives. Dad and I worked on it for hours and hours re-installing Windows 98. But we couldn't finish with installing the rest of the stuff since he had to get to work. So during that time, I worked on getting my internet connection back up but I still had no luck (which is why I haven't posted here for a while ._.; ). So instead I worked on getting all my software back up. When I was done I worked more on my "How To Write Original Fiction" tutorial for one of my boards, and started on a concept sketch. I worked more on a story that's currently in progress, I'm surprised by the amount of pages I added. I didn't get my internet connection back up until a couple of hours ago, w00t. Of course I now have to catch up on everything I've missed...twenty-four hours lost and I'm so thrown off schedule. :/ So yeah...that's how my day went. c_c;;

Oh my GOD!
I lost my voice yesterday, right? ARGH! I'm a singer in our theater production, and I can't do ANYTHING! And now, today, I haven't said a WORD-and my friend just called to see if I needed a ride up to the theater. Last night he was making fun of me and said I sounded like I'd been smoking XD
Well, when I went to say "Hi" He was like
"Oh my GOD-now you sound like a 50 YEAR OLD SMOKER!"
