While Neisa got up struggling and made her way to her sister, Mininirime looked around, the grounds were strewn with dead orc bodies. She looked at the with disgust in her eyes, before turning Erugenel, who had turned her head away from her, or so it seemed. She looked beside her and saw Prince Legolas, she turned to him eagerly. "What happened? How were they able to enter?"
Legolas answered with a quick reply, his eyes fixed on Erugenel's back. After he answered all her questions he stepped away from Mininirime, towards Erugenel. "Are you ok?" He asked concerned.

“I am perfectly all right.” She lied. She cleared her throat. Carefully stepping away pretending to examine an orc. “We should get them out of here.” She said successfully preventing her voice from shaking. “And make sure the Lady is all right.” She looked up at Neisa and Miriel and pursed her lips together letting her eyes wonder the hall.
Legolas continued to look at her and wondered if she knew it had been him she had run into. Such questions however he decided would have to wait for indeed there was a mess to clean up.
“Oh heaven.” Thranduil and a small group stopped in the hall and he shook his head. “Well, I see we were not needed. We were told the lot of you followed a small group of orcs down here.”
“And of course you came to make sure all was well.” Mini said. “We are all fine.” She added glancing towards Erugenel who she had a feeling was spooked.

"They are not though, which is all the better for us" She tried to lighten the heavy mood that had fallen over the group.
"You two." Thranduil pointed at to foot soldiers. "Clear these orcs from the hall." With a concerned look in his deep majestic eyes, Thranduil stepped forwards to the two sisters. "I hope no lasting evil has fallen on you both? If you need any medical help, please do say so. We have excellent healers in Mirkwood." He mainly directed his attention to Neisa, who looked pale and shocked.
Then his eye fell on his son and Erugenel, making sure that they were alright too. The blood covering their apparel was dark of color and so obviously from the orcs that Thranduil let out a small sigh. He straightened himself and walked towards his son. "Well done, Legolas. And you too. He looked at Erugenel and lastly at Mininirime.
Legolas seemed not to have heard his father and still kept his gaze on Erugenel.

Erugenel stared at Thranduil almost shocked. She was sure he would- but he did not and she was grateful for it. "Thank you my Lord." She wondered if he had finaly excepted the fact that she was grown and no longer needed to be held back.
"Lets go get cleaned then shall we?" Mini said smiling. Erugenel looked at her and wanted to laugh.
"What would Mirkwood do without you?" She asked her voice suddenley light.
"Become depressed." She replied with a smartish smirk.
"Indeed." Thranduil said catching the happier mood suddenley. "Now, lets take Mini's suggestion and freshen up. I hear there will be a feast tonight." He said obviously hinting that there would be.
Gemma led Neisa by the arm both seeming to be all right, though Neisa still seemed to be a bit shaken up. And Thranduil was attentive as much as he knew he would be aloud. Mini and Erugenel waited for a moment until they began to head out together. Erugenel could not help but glance at Legolas as they passed but looked away when she realized he was looking at her. What in the world had she done? She wondered her heart beating hard at the realization.

As they walked out of the hall, and out of sight and hearing of Legolas, Mininirime made a slight observation. "The prince was all eyes for you just now, wasn't he. I wonder what that could mean?"
She looked at her friend's face and saw the shock on it.
"He's probably impressed by your fighting skills." She said quickly, not wanting to make Erugenel feel uncomfortable. She didn't realize it was already too late for that.
"Thranduil sure was, I think" She tried to brighten up her friend, but all attempts seemed to fail. "What had happened? Was it because of Legolas?" she wondered.

"Neither of them should really be over impressed." She said her voice shaking slightly. "My father trained me ever since I could weild a sword and they had watched me practice with him often enough." She breathed in heavily and shook her head warily her light hair falling into her face. "Besides, the Prince probably does not even remember me." Mini smiled slightly deciding that for now she would let things go.
"All right, whatever you say." She said grabbing her arm in a comforting gesture. She felt her relax slightly and nodded with some approval. "Now I hear there is going to be a feast. Lets go get dressed up for it."

The two elfs departed from each other as they reached their sleeping quarters, to freshen up for the feast. Mininirime took her time getting ready. Her dress had gotten quite dirty, dust and orc blood covered her skirts, She carefully stripped the dress of and took a relaxing oil bath. Half an hour later she got out of the bath, her ivory skin shining. She filled the bathtub with lukewarm water and let her blood covered garnments soak in it while she got ready for the feast. The dress she chose to wear lay on the bed. It was of soft silk, and painted in the same fiery red colour as her hair. The long skirts moved around her legs like red waves and the long, wide sleeves flowed around her arms like flames. The bodice she wore over it was made of the same colour, but of a more sturdier material, it hugged her slim waist and made her figure come out best. Her hair she wore lose on her back, held away from her face by a golden head ornament, covered with small red stones.
The corridor was empty as she got out of her room, but halfway down to hall she ran into Legolas, who was also on his way to the feast.
"Hail Legolas." Her voice was warm and betrayed her happiness, as though she had already forgotten everything that had happened.
"Hail Mininirime. Shall I escort you to the feast?"
"A prince is always a gentleman, ey Legolas?" She said laughingly as he took her arm. The walked to the feast hall talking like good friends, or relatives. In the hall they joined Lord Thranduil, who was talking to the twins. Niesa was looking a lot better and happier, now that the danger had passed. Erugenel was already there as well and was talking to the other sister, Mininirime said down next to her and took a sip of a goblet filled with the cool Mirkwood wine.

Erugenel looked over at Mini and smiled warmly at her. Her silver blond hair had been let down with an exception of the few braids resting softly against the body of her hair and the strands closest to her face pulled back into a clever fish-tail braid. The white-gold headdress accented the cream of her skin and made her pale green and zircon blue eyes stand out. The pale green dress she wore shined in the candlelight and cleverly accented her bodily features without giving too much away. She looked like the royal no one knew she was.
“And how has the evening been thus far?” Mini asked smiling. Erugenel laughed.
“It would be a terrible bore if Miriel had not been kind enough to converse with me.” Erugenel informed her. She took a sip of her drink her eyes wondering the hall over the brim of her cup. “You came in a little late. Were you mingling with a handsome gentleman in the halls?” She teased.

Míriel sighed as she absentmindedly tapped the wine glass with the tips of her fingernails. She meandered along, eyes searching each Elf, familiarizing herself with each and every person’s face. She looked at her reflection in one of the long windows. She glanced at her sister, Neisa, who was surrounded by threshes of Elven men just waiting to be glanced at by that beautiful green gaze. Suddenly, Míriel didn’t feel like being there. She looked back at her reflection and wondered. Her midnight waves of hair were floating over her shoulders like velvet, thick and glossy, the ends curling upward gently, a tiara twirling in golden swirls studded with rose colored Rhodochrosite stones, ending at the crown of her forehead, bearing a beautiful pink pearl. The sea shell pink of the gown she wore had thick layers of silk that presented a tiny waist and an over all agile frame, placing her peaches and cream skin on display. She spotted the beautiful Lady Erugenel, and another lovely Elf she did not know.
She was not someone to beat around the bush, and got right to the point. She said what she pleased, and if someone didn’t like it they could get over it, but not to say she was unkind. She was compassionate and lovely underneath her distaste for society’s regulations. However, if someone were to ask her what she thought of the party, she was simply answer truthfully. “It’s a complete wash, on my part.” she would state, and probably walk away. Parties were bores to her without someone interesting to talk to. While Neisa was ever loving and gentle, Míriel was called rude and brash for a princess, and not at all like her Lady Mother. That suited Míriel just fine, though. She didn’t give a care what the Kingdom thought about her, because they couldn’t deny she did her job magnificently. And that was all that mattered to her.
She connected gazes with the other two ladies across the hall, and gave a coy smile and tipped her glass upward in a wry toast before taking a long sip of wine again.

Erugenel and Mini smiled returning the gesture when Erugenel froze. "Erugenel are you all right?" Mini asked. He was here. How did he gather the gule to trace her here? She wondered angrily.
"My Lady." Thranduil slipped into a seat besides Erugenel and placed a peace of parchment in front of her glancing at Neisa then back at her. "This came earlier today." He explained. "Until now I have not been able to deliver it, and for a while Lady Neisa was holding onto it for me. I am told it is a letter of great importance." He told her. Erugenel looked down at the letter then back at Thranduil.
"From Lord Aragorn?" She asked watching him. He nodded his head and pushed it closer to her. "I was told that you need to read it the first chance you got." He told her obviously hinting that she needed to do it very soon. Picking up the letter Erugenel carefuly opened it Mini watching her.
"Erugenel?" Mini looked at her worriedly as her friend placed a hand over her mouth her eyes filling with tears as she read. Mini gave an aggrivated glance toward Thranduil who had returned to his seat and was watching worriedly from where he was. When Erugenel finished she looked up and scanned the room again quickly freeing herself from the tears that blinded her. Where was he? When she saw him she stood up.
"Halenor?!" He turned hearing her and gave her a weak smile.
"Erugenel." He whispered concern washing over him when he saw that she was wiping tears quickly from her cheeks. She was hurrying away from the table a letter in hand and he hurried towards her meaning to meet her half way. When they did he found himself in a tight embrace with a maiden who should despise him. He glanced down at the letter and snatched it from her hands. She still held onto him not caring about the gesutre. He sighed.
"I give thee thanks my Lord Aragorn." Halenor sighed frustraited. "When such news was to be kept secret."
"Stop being a stubborn fool!" She scolded looking up at him. He smiled down at her and wiped the tears from her cheeks that were most recentley shed.
"You would have found out in another way any way." He told her.
"I would have. But to hear why you did what you did from your own lips would have solved much sorrow earlier." She told him. He laughed and picked her up spinning her in his arms and she held him tightly again. When he put her down he kissed her cheek and crumbled the letter tossing it into a fire nearby.
"Such things are in the past as you say. Now, would you care to join me in the dance my dear?" Erugenel laughed.
"Why my good Lord, it has been long since I have had a chance to do so." She told him as he put them in position. "But I suppose I could give you the honor of taking me about the dance floor."
"You know I have always enjoyed such an honor." He smiled.
"Your still a fool." She told him.
"And I forever will be."

Míriel sighed, watching her sister flirt and frolic amongst the men. It was hard to get used to seeing someone she was related to act that way. In Lothlorien, she despised those women who were the belle’s of the ball. Now she had to grin and bear it because her sister was one of them. She sighed and placed an empty wine glass on a passing tray. She moved across the room silently, and stood by the firelight where several soldiers were speaking quietly. She stared at the flames, wishing she knew why she was here.
She looked at the dancing couples and spotted Erugenel laughing and dancing. She smiled faintly. At least everyone else was having a good time. Míriel figured that if she wasn't having a good time, everyone else around her surly was. She smiled at that thought. How very appropriate, she thought, thinking of all the Elven Elders in Lothlorien who would be gossiping about her for her lack of propriety in enjoying the evening. And THAT made her smile.

When the song ended every one clapped for the dancers and players and Erugenel took Halenor by the arm.
"Hal, there are some people I would like you to meet." She told him hurrying him off the dance floor.
"Oh good I have always enjoyed new faces and names to learn." He teased.
"I think you will like some of the elves I will be introducing you to." She told him with a patient smile. She owed him at least that, though she was not going to be puting much sympathy on him. He should have told her what was going on. But it no longer mattered and soon they were standing next to Miriel. "Good evening Miriel." Erugenel said with a new smile her lips parting to reveal her pearl white teeth as her eyes shone with a light that had been out for a while.

Míriel waited a moment before turning around to see Erugenel and a gentleman on her arm. She knew that smile-that look. Her mother had used it time and time again-an introduction. Míriel inwardly sighed, but figured, Grin and bear it, right? Just make the best of it…as much as you can.
Míriel looked at Erugenel curiously. “Good evening,” she said, her voice suspicious. “How are you enjoying tonight’s festivities?” she asked, one black eyebrow arched upward.
