"It has been interesting." She told her. "And you?"
"I have been bored out of my mind all night." Miriel told her truthfuly. Erugenel laughed.
"Erugenel is this really necessary?" Halenor asked. Erugenel looked at him and raised her brow.
"I have to punish you some how don't I? And I know you hate formalities, so why not make you suffer through some." She turned back to Miriel and smirked. "Miriel, this is Halenor of Gondor and Lothlorien."

Míriel flashed her dimpled, disarming smile at the man. “Nice to meet you.” She said. “I’m Míriel.” Simple, short, possibly sweet. She turned back to Erugenel. “Now don’t make the poor boy suffer,” she said with a smirk. “It’s supposed to be a night of ‘celebration’, isn’t it?”
Erugenel smiled. “It’s enjoyment for me, though.”
Míriel looked back at the man. “I come from Lothlorien-it’s nice to see home so far out,” she said, sincerely. “I trained in Gondor, as well, before venturing…in other places.” She said, wondering if the ladies of Lothlorien would think her speaking of the Ice Bay and Fanghorn Forest as proper talk at a social gathering. She smiled when she obviously knew the answer, but didn’t mention it. “What brings you to Mirkwood?”

"I'm sitll glad you came." Erugenel told him. "Now you can ask the Lady to dance."

Míriel narrowed her emerald gaze. “I don’t dance,” she said tightly. She bowed her head to the man. “Not to offend, but,” she looked back at Erugenel, then to her sister Neisa. “She does though.” She said, before giving a mock bow and walking off with her head held high.
Halenor raised an eyebrow. “Quite rude, would you say?”
Erugenel shrugged. “I suppose she’s bitter…”
“More wine?” Míriel looked up to see Hathel, a Mirkwood Elf she had befriended days ago. With long black hair straight as pins, and misty grey eyes, he was very mysterious looking, and had an amusing sense of humor.
“No, thank you.” Míriel answered with a sniff.
“You’re not having fun? And I was so certain you’d be enjoying yourself,” Hathel said, pouting.
Míriel sighed, rubbing her forehead. “I can’t do these types of things.”
“Yes you can,” Hathel said. “You’re a fine woman, and you let your anxiety get in the way of you ever having a chance to find fun again.”
Míriel glared at him. “Stop trying to analyze me.”
“I’m not analyzing anything,” Hathel said shrugging. “It’s written all over your face.”

Mininirime relaxed on the benches, she was in no mood for dancing yet. She sipped her wine and Erugenel and Halenor went for a spin. She enjoyed the feast, but there was something that made her feel out of odds with herself, though she wasn't quite sure what it was. She sighed, it was going to be a long evening if she didn't start to enjoy herself a little. Wrapping a smile round her lips she moved to Erugenel and Halenor. "Good evening." She bowed lightly. "I don't think we've been introduced yet. I'm Mininirime. I'm from all over the place, but at the moment my home is in Rohan." She smiled at Erugenel. "You know you should introduce any good looking man to me immediately. I like to know who's on the marked." She said jokingly.

"Well then." Erugenel said with a smile. "Mininirime, this is Halenor. And he is indeed in the market." She said laughing.
"Oh please don't." Halenor said covering his face and the two women laughed. He looked sincerely at Mini and flashed a charming smile. "She has been trying to set me up for years now." He told her.

“Miriel!” Neisa said, laughing, coming over to her sister. “Everyone here is so nice. Come you must dance.”
Miriel gave her sister a look as if she’d grown a tassle of weeds on top of her head. “You go dance for me,” she said, keeping her tone light for once.
Neisa gave her sister a sympathetic look, but smiled before running off and dancing with someone else. Hathel nudged her. “That could have been your chance.” He said in a sing song warning tone.
Miriel smiled. “Oh I’m so sure.”
“Yes, yes,” he said smiling. “You could have met Prince Charming.”
“I met my Prince once,” she said, taking Hathel’s hand and walking him to dance. He took her hand and grinned at her. “And he turned out to be made of tin-not steel.”
“There’s second chances, you know,” said Hathel.
---
“Dance,” Erugenel whispered to Halenor.
He turned around, surprised. “What?”
“Dance!” she said, nudging him harder towards Mini.

Halenor glanced at Mini and smiled sighing mentally at Erugenel's persistance.
"My Lady would you care to dance?" Halenor asked. Mini smiled glancing at Erugenel and nodded her head.
"I would love to." She told him, Erugenel wanted to laugh with delight as she watched him lead her out on to the dance floor.
Knowing he would be entertained for a while she went into a corner of the room and sat watching the events around her.

Neisa laughed as the she danced with a very handsome, auburn-haired elf.
She was all smiles today. Parties always put her in a good mood, and this was a feast to end all feasts- and Neisa hadn't sitted out a dance once.
It was a VERY good day for her.
Her eyes sparkled, her cheeks glowed apple red, and she couldn't remember a time when she was happier.
She switched partners, to a blond haired elf, and the to a raven haired one in perfect time to the music.
The song finally ended, and Neisa finished with the raven haired elf. She bowed neatly to him, and quickly ran to her twin, laughing.
"Oh Miriel, I love it here. I never want to leave."

“That makes one of us.” Miriel replied acidly. Her sister never seemed to notice her moody twin’s sarcasm and crude behavior. Or if she did, she thought it was amusing. She didn’t mind it, really. Her twin had more skeletons in her closet than she liked to let on, and Neisa figured that she acted the way she did from those skeletons.
“I saw you dancing,” Neisa poked her. “You were actually having fun.”
Miriel nodded. “I forgot how much I miss dancing.”
Nesia pulled her into a dance. “Dance with me!”
Miriel smiled at her sister and nodded. “All right.”

Mininirime danced around the room with Halenor, she dearly loved to dance and Halenor was a good dancer, he had rhythm and style, and for a man he was light on his feet. "How comes it that a handsome man like you is still in the market?"
"I could ask the same thing of you, milady." Halenor replied smiling.
"I am just picky. I'm waiting for prince charming. Though a prince is not really my thing, I'd rather have a normal charming. Princes have to much baggage and obligations. And I think that the cutest prince in this land has his affections somewhere else." She winked at Legolas who was talking to his father, though his eyes rested on Erugenel's back. Erugenel did not seem to notice, nor did she seem interested in him in anyway. She remembered her friends reaction to her speculations, but by the way she reacted she wasn't she that her disinterest was just a front. "I don't think that his affections are returned as warmly."
Halenor flinched a little, hardly noticeable. "Indeed, by the looks of it, that is not the case." He was quick with his answer, and spun Mininirime around the dancefloor to distract her.

Halenor knew very little of Erugenel's secrets in the department of her interests in men, but he knew very well that the Prince was a very touchy subject for her. He had figured it out a while ago, and he knew better than to bring up the subject. He had only met the Prince a few selected times and if he were Erugenel's care-taker, and in a way he was, he would be happy for them. Though he had never known exactly the feelings of either party. But Mini was right. Legolas did seem to be rather distracted.
He continued to lead her around, keeping a good eye on Erugenel as he did. She knew how to take care of herself, this he knew and excepted like few others. But she was able to get herself into trouble more often than not. He had to smile when a small boy-elf approuched her. He watched with soft eyes as she knelt down to look at the child and felt his heart sigh. She wanted it, but she was terrified of the beginning of it.
"My Lady." The boy said and Erugenel could not hide her smile as she bent down to look at him at eye level.
"Yes?" She asked curiously, her silk moon beam hair falling over her shoulder. The boy admired for a moment before he went on.
"May I have this dance?" He asked as formaly as a grown man would. Erugenel's smile parted her lips to reveal her beautiful teeth.
"I would love to dance with you." She told him. And straitening up and letting him escort her the best he could he lead her to the dance floor and she let him lead her about the dance floor patiently and with a smile. Some day, she though as she watched him stick his tongue out and look down at his feet concentrating, some day she wanted some of her own... Her eyes glanced up at Legolas for a split second before they returned to the little boy. She sighed, with some one who she knew loved her. Maybe she would not be so enthralled with whomever came along, but at least whoever it would be, would love her... It was a shame her heart was already stolen by some one who had never shown great interest in her.
